Future Expansion

Garden Fresh Vegetables will expand their business through the purchase of an existing 10 acre greenhouse in Gothenburg that will be relocated to the O’Neill site and will include a new three fourths of an acre propagation unit.

GFV raises mainly tomatoes and cucumbers. They are the primary supplier of locally grown tomatoes for all Wal-Marts and Hy-Vees in Nebraska, Russ’s Markets in Lincoln, Pegler Sysco in Nebraska, Lofreddo in Omaha and Balls Foods in Kansas City. Runza Restaurants use only their tomatoes. Many local stores, including Subway purchase GFV tomatoes and cucumbers. Several other grocery stores in Omaha and Kansas City purchase their products as well. Garden Fresh Vegetables has a retail store in Omaha and sells tomatoes to private vendors across Nebraska and South Dakota. Garden Fresh Vegetables participates in the Farm to Schools program and provides tomatoes to five schools and anticipates selling to many more educational facilities.

Marv Fritz, and 29 other investors, including many family members formed GFV, LLC and purchased the business in December 2007. They have demonstrated tremendous success and improvement over the past two years.
